This past winter, our team took on a project that was both exciting and long overdue! We finally contracted the full renovation of the original hardwood floors in our King Street flagship store in Charleston, SC. Since moving into this space in 2020, our floors have seen thousands of footsteps, countless deliveries, and endless weathering. It’s the kind of well-loved wear that comes with growing a business and welcoming so many of you into our space. After several years of use, we knew it was time to give our floors the refresh they deserved!
This wasn’t just a small touch-up. It was a total overhaul! Renovating the floors meant we had to completely empty the store, taking out every display, product, and even every ship painting. Everything you see in-store had to be carefully packed and moved out, and later, brought back in and put back in its place.
Once the space was cleared, the original dark brown top layer of our hardwood floors was sanded down to reveal the natural beauty underneath. We opted for a brighter, cleaner finish that reflects more light and complements the bright white walls and ceilings that we love about our shop. The transformation was instantly noticeable. The refreshed floors have made the entire store feel more open, fresh, and welcoming! This renovation was more than just a cosmetic update—it marked a fresh chapter for our King Street location and reflected the growth we’ve experienced since first opening our doors here five years ago. We’re constantly evolving, and this new look helps our space grow with us!
