Our name is inspired by time spent on Martha’s Vineyard.
Can you make custom products?
We do not offer custom options.

Do you offer gift cards?
Yes! You can purchase a gift card online! They can be redeemed both in store and online.
Who do I contact if I'm having technical difficulties with the website?
Please call us at (843) 619-7799 x0 as we will be happy to take an order over the phone. We will also make note of any issues you are experiencing so we can relay this information to our website developers.
What is Build a Bundle?
You can customize a bundle and receive a discount based on the quantity of products in your bundle! You can also subscribe to this bundle for an extra discount! Check out our Build a Bundle page here!
What are subscriptions?
We are happy to now offer subscriptions! Build your own subscription box and receive it on your preferred timeline, for an extra discount, so that you never run out of your favorite Old Whaling Co items! You can find our subscriptions page here!
How Can I Manage My Subscriptions?
You can manage your subscriptions, including pausing your shipment or swapping out your bundle items, by going to "Manage Subscriptions" on your account page (you must be logged in to access this link). You will also receive an email before each shipment which will allow you to update your subscription.
Our Loyalty Rewards Program
How do I sign up for your Loyalty Rewards program?
All you need to do is create an account on our website!
You’ll receive 25 points just for signing up! You can also sign up in store!
How can I earn loyalty reward points on my account?
You have multiple ways to earn points on your account! You earn points by creating an account, leaving a review, following us on social media, sharing our page on your Facebook account, extra points on your birthday, and you’ll earn 1 point for every $1 you spend! All ways to earn points are located on our Rewards page here! Make sure you are logged in to your account when attempting to earn points. When visiting us in store, be sure to let us know your email address and we’ll make sure your in-store purchases count towards your loyalty points!
How can I redeem my loyalty reward points?
Once you have enough points to redeem, you will see a message on your checkout screen that lets you know you can redeem earned points on that order! All you have to do is click “Redeem My Points” and it will apply to your order. You can also redeem points in person at our Charleston shops!
Where can I see my total loyalty reward points?
Once logged into your account, you can click the Rewards link. This will bring you to our Rewards page which will show you how many points you have, how many points away you are from earning a redemption, or how many points are needed in order to to level up to the next Loyalty tier.
What do my loyalty reward points earn?
Your points are redeemed for discounts on future orders! For example, you’ll be eligible for $5 off your next order when you earn 100 points! As well as exclusive discounts and rewards for Loyalty Members only!
Do My Loyalty Reward Points Expire?
Yes! Your points expire 1 year after they are earned. You will get an email notification when your points are set to expire soon so you can make sure to take advantage of any rewards earned!
Products
Do you use whale oil/fat in your products?
Nope! Our name is just a nod to the history of soap-making and it’s ties to the whaling industry.
Are your products hypoallergenic?
Our mission is to create gentle bath and body essentials for the home. We choose ingredients with this mission in mind, and we hope that our customers with the most sensitive of skin will be delighted with our products. However, everyone’s skin is different, so we encourage you to see our full ingredient list of each product to determine which products are best for you!
Do your products contain nuts?
Our products do not contain nuts! Our Body Butter and our Body Scrubs do contain shea butter which is extracted from a shea nut. We encourage you to check out our Ingredients Page for a full list of ingredients.
Are your products made for sensitive skin?
We create our products to be gentle and mild, and source our ingredients with this in mind. Our hope is that our customers with the most sensitive of skin will love and enjoy using our products. However, everyone’s skin is different, so we recommend using a small amount of any skin care product in a concentrated area before full use to determine which products work well with your skin.
Are your products safe for pregnancy?
We are so happy to see mamas using and loving our products! If you are pregnant, we do recommend consulting with your doctor to determine if our products are right for you during your pregnancy. You can find our full ingredient list on our Ingredients Page!
Are your products gluten free?
Yes! All of our products are gluten free.
Are your products vegan?
Yes, except for two of our bar soaps: our Oatmeal Milk & Honey Bar Soap and our Castile Bar Soap. Both contain goat’s milk extract, and our Oatmeal Milk & Honey bar contains honey. All of our other products are vegan-friendly!
Do you test on animals?
Never!
Are your products safe for pets?
Our products are made for humans, but our Bar Soaps are safe to use on your pets! We do caution the use of any of our products around your pets, as they are not safe for consumption.
Do you make shaving soap?
All of our Bar Soaps can be used for shaving! We love to use our bar soaps as an alternative to shaving creams for their extra creamy lather and moisturizing properties.
Do you make shampoo bars?
We love to use our Bar Soaps as shampoo bars! We recommend any of our bar soaps with the exception of our Bamboo & Teak bar soap as it is made with pumice powder and may be too abrasive for your scalp. To use any other of our bar soaps as a shampoo bar, simply create a lather with your bar soap, massage into your hair and scalp, and then rinse thoroughly.
What is the base of your soap?
We use a combination of olive oil, coconut oil and soybean oil. This combination leads to a bar soap that lathers well and provides additional moisturizing properties without stripping the skin. Learn more about our soap-making process (called the cold-process method)!
Do you offer fragrance free products?
Yes! Our Castile Bar Soap, Fragrance Free Body Butter, and our Fragrance Free Bath Bomb are all made without fragrance or color.
Do you offer color-free or naturally colored products?
We do! All of our Body Butters, Body Scrubs, and Candles are color-free, and we have color-free or naturally-colored options in both our Bar Soaps and our Bath Bombs.

What is the ® Symbol that is next to some product Names?
The ® symbolizes that we have a registered trademark for that scent name! If you see the ™ symbol, this means we have a pending trademark for that scent name.
Wholesale
I want to carry your products at my store. How do I become an Old Whaling Company Retailer?
Yay! Thank you for your interest in our products for your shop. Please fill out our Wholesale Application to get started! Our team will review your application, and pending approval, you’ll receive a login account to access our Wholesale Direct portal.
How do I login to my wholesale account?
You may access your account through the Old Whaling Co. wholesale portal located at the footer of our website or by clicking here.
To log in, simply enter your email address and password. If it's your first time logging in, you'll need to first create your account before accessing the wholesale portal.

Do you offer private label?
