There’s something about September that makes fall feel officially on its way (although it isn't the weather in Charleston), and we love bringing that feeling to life in our retail windows. This month we’re leaning into our love for apples. With the launch of our new Admiral’s Apple candle, crisp red apples became the perfect inspiration for our September displays, bringing a fresh pop of fall color to our Charleston shop. Creating our seasonal windows is always a little bit of a process too, we start planning ahead and gathering inspiration during the summer so everything is ready once fall arrives!
Brainstorming the Idea
With the launch of our new Admiral’s Apple candle, featuring a fresh, crisp red apple and juicy pear scent, apples felt like the perfect place to start our retail displays. There’s a nostalgic feeling about this time of year that brings to mind apple picking, wandering through orchards, fall festivals, and bringing home a bushel of fresh apples from the farmers market.
We love the rich red color of the honey crisp apple which feels warm and inviting. To make the displays feel distinctly like us, we paired faux apples with warm nautical elements and coastal details which created a fall look that feels connected to our East Coast roots.
Putting Together the Final Product
Once we had our apple-inspired concept in place, it was time to bring the vision to life. We designed a realistic layout of each window on Canva to garner inspiration and then our retail team came together to gather supplies. We started with layers of rustic brown crates and rope elements for warmth then added cascading small and large red apples to create movement. To create further depth, we suspended apples and fall leaves with fishing line, giving the display a playful falling effect that catches your eye as you walk by!
