How We Make Candles | Behind the Scenes

Step inside our Charleston, SC, warehouse to find our team surrounded by the comforting scents of candles in the making. Each batch is carefully hand-poured by our production crew who take pride in creating something special from start to finish. It’s a process that requires patience and attention to detail, but it’s our favorite part of bringing each product to life!

Small Batch Made

Unlike mass-produced candles, our candles are made in small batches by carefully measuring, melting, and mixing our custom blend of soy and olive wax. Soy and olive wax are both vegetable based which produce a cleaner burn. Olive wax typically has a higher melting point, and when mixed with soy wax, adds burn time to each candle.

Next we incorporate our fragrance oils, which are added and blended. This step is one of the most important, where our candles take on their signature scents, each one designed to bring a sense of joy and comfort to your home.

Pouring With Care

Our blend of wax in hand-poured into white glass vessels, with wicks evenly set to ensure a clean, even burn. It’s a process that looks simple but requires steady hands, especially when we’re pouring hot wax into many candles in a single day.

As the candles begin to cool, the warehouse fills with the soft, lingering scent of fresh fragrance. It’s one of our favorite parts of production—watching rows of candles slowly set, knowing they’ll soon be ready to brighten someone’s space!

From Our Hands to Your Home

Once all of our candles are set, each candle wick is trimmed, and the glass vessel is labeled and packaged by hand. It’s a full-circle process that takes teamwork, time, and love for what we do. Continue the care of your candle by reading our candle care blog! Every candle that leaves our warehouse carries with it the care and dedication of our small, woman run team.
